On Friday, February 7th, we kicked off our Spring semester Cultural and Historical Awareness Program (CHAP) speaker series with Dr. Benjamin Mitchell-Yellin's insightful presentation, "Belief and Awesomeness," held in the PC Theater.

In his presentation, Dr. Mitchell-Yellin, Director of the Teaching and Learning Center and Associate Professor of Philosophy at Sam Houston State University, delves into how we interpret these profound near-death experiences and how they shape our understanding of the universe along with our place within it.

This engaging discussion touches on the intersection of religion and science, the search for satisfying explanations, and the potential biases that can influence the information we receive. Dr. Mitchell-Yellin, a respected philosopher specializing in near-death experiences, immortality, meaning in life, values, and racism, and author of "Near-Death Experiences: Understanding Visions of the Afterlife," brings a wealth of knowledge to this thought-provoking topic.
