Bakersfield College hosted a series of events to celebrate Homecoming Week. Students had the opportunity to participate in the various activities and contests all leading up to the Homecoming football game on Saturday, October 19th.

The week kicked off with ‘Conquer the Gauntlet’, which featured a large, inflated obstacle course for students to race through. Students could compete against each other while running through inflated stations, climbing hills, and a huge slide to the finish line.

On Tuesday, students got a chance to show their creative side by creating vision boards. Students were encouraged to craft a personalized board displaying their goals, aspirations, and affirmations. Vision boards were submitted to a judging panel, and the best offerings received a prize. The next day, Student Life hosted an afternoon of movies in the Renegade Event Center. With Halloween just around the corner, what could be better than watching some classic horror films with your fellow Renegades? Attendees got to enjoy Nosferatu, Little Shop of Horrors, and more.

Homecoming week is not over and there are still opportunities to participate in a variety of fun activities. On Thursday night in the Fireside Room, all Renegades and their friends are invited to showcase their talents at “Sing Like a Kid Again Karaoke Night”. Come and sing your favorite childhood tunes. On Friday, BC will host the annual homecoming dance in the Renegade Events Center. Refreshments will be provided, so bring your friends and your dancing shoes and be ready to dance the night away.

The exciting conclusion to Homecoming Week will take place on Saturday, October 19, with the Alumni BBQ, homecoming parade, and the homecoming football game. Thank you to everyone who helped put these events together and to everyone who participated in Homecoming Week . Go Gades!
