BC Students Enjoy Afternoon of Lotería
In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, the Extended Opportunities & Programs department at BC recently hosted a fun-filled afternoon of Lotería, a traditional Mexican game similar to bingo. Students, staff, and administrators were all invited to the Fireside Room to participate, and winners had the opportunity to pick some great prizes.
The colorful Lotería cards were handed out as participants arrived and featured several images like “El sombrero”, “Las maracas”, “El balero”, and more. The moderator enthusiastically called out the game cards, and the winners would announce “Lotería!” when they had filled the sufficient spaces on their game cards for victory. Winners had the opportunity to pick a prize from a variety of BC swag, including tumblers, handbags, paddles, and more.
The casual game allowed participants to take a break from their busy schedules and academic workloads and bond with friends, enjoy some snacks, celebrate Hispanic culture, and win some fun prizes!
