Bakersfield College Celebrates Women Breaking Barriers in Honor of Women's History Month
This month, Bakersfield College proudly joins the nation in celebrating Women's History Month, recognizing the accomplishments, contributions, and resilience of women throughout history. The BC Women’s History and More (WHAM) Committee has been diligently working to curate a series of events under the theme "Lessons From and By Women Breaking Barriers."
The diverse array of programming throughout the month aims to inspire and educate the community, shedding light on the remarkable achievements of women who have overcome challenges and paved the way for others. The WHAM Committee invites everyone to participate in the following events:
All Month Long: Library Book Display
Location: BC Panorama Campus Grace Van Dyke Bird Library
Thursday, March 7th, 6:00-7:30PM: Latinas in Business and Leadership Panel
Format: Zoom webinar in collaboration with the Kern County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

Tuesday, March 12th, 1:30-3:00PM: Campus Stories - Voices of Female Scholars at Bakersfield College
Location: Levan Center
Format: Panel discussion with BC Staff, Faculty, and Students, followed by a networking
and light appetizer reception.
Thursday, March 21st, 7:30PM: BC Performing Arts Presents "Lilies of the Field"
Location: Indoor Theater
Directed by Professor Kimberly Chin, with additional performances on 3/22 & 3/23.

Location: Indoor Theater
Chamber Music Theater work produced by The Core Ensemble, bringing to life the stories
of Ida B Wells, Sally Hemings, & Shirley Chisholm.
