Bakersfield College Student Government Association Attends Student Leadership Conference
The Office of Student Life took a group of BCSGA members and student organizations leaders to the annual California Community College Student Affairs Association Student Leadership Conference this past weekend.
Assistant Director of Student Life, Leonardo Ayala worked hard over the past year putting the conference together as a co-chair and over 550 students from community colleges all over California enjoyed a weekend full of learning and networking opportunities as a result.
Supporting the conference, Dean of Students, Dr. Damania and Program Director, Nicole
Alvarez each presented multiple workshops in the areas of resolution writing and student
organizations.
Combined, there were over 30 sessions for student leaders and advisors from across
the state and gain tools to strengthen their respective campus community.
BCSGA Director of Student Organizations, Abigail Tamayo said "I am so thankful to Dr. Damania, Leo, Nicole and BCSGA for giving me the opportunity to attend this conference. I learned so much from the workshops and can't wait to bring the information back to our student organizations community!"
Other student leaders who attended were BCSGA members Amanda Anguiano, Bella Saldívar, Jacob Palmbach and from our Student Organizations community Isaac Morgan (Student Business Association) and Rafael De La Mora (LUPE).
